My brother's doctor is saying he has some symptoms of Alzheimer's. My brother is only 56. Is this even possible?

My sister-in-law says my brother has been acting strangely for awhile now and forgetting things easily (he has been a little off ... but I just thought he was just tired). She called tonight to say that at a doctor's visit today, he was diagnosed with symptoms of Alzheimer's. But he's only 56 years old. Is this even possible? Has anyone ever heard of this? Should I encourage her to seek out a second opinion?

I believe it is possible. My

I believe it is possible. My mother began getting symptoms of the same kind.I flew dowm east to visit her and discovered she had indeed changed .I started her on 1000mg ,three times a day of Omega 3 Fish oil capsules. Agter 6 weeks, she was talking much better and even noticed a huge difference in her memory. Its only gotten better and better. The new England Journal of Medicine claims that if there is a miricle supplement out there,Omega 3 would be it. There are claims it prevents Alziemers and Parkinsons from ever happening if taken in higher doses,regulary/daily.3-5 1000 mg capsules every day. Hey, we have all heard that fish is brain food, now we know some of the benifits. It is also claimed to help people with seizures, and I have bought my friends son 2 bottles and while taking the capsules,he never had one but 3 days after stopping,he started again. There has to be something in the oils that is working. It was initially studied in a dbbl blind study with 1000 doctors to see if it softened arteries in older men and reduced heart attacks. It was a 6 month study but at its completion, 500 of the doctors that took it had arteries soft and pliable as a 20 yr old man, plaque free. IN the group of 500 that did not take it, 2 suffered heart attacks and their arteries were hard as any other older man. To see the benifits you have to take it for 6 months steady. I swear by it,because as a smoker,it can only help me all the more as smokers arteries harden faster than non smokers ,especially at 51 yrs of age. I suggest you get your relative on it asap.It can,t hurt, thats for sure. ...SnowBandit On Blue Mountain

Possible

My brother started with Alzheimers at the same age, 56, and deteriorated quite rapidly and died at 60. I hope you don't have the same experience.

Early Stages of Alzheimers

I have heard of young people having alzheimers before, although it is rare. On the compukiss website, Sandy Berger has several articles on alzheimers that you may want to read. You can read one about early stages at http://www.compukiss.com/articles/discovering-alzheimers-in-its-earliest...
