Battling Bad Breath

Worried about bad breath? The American Dental Association has online answers to questions and concerns about halitosis.

Dental experts say bad breath may be linked to something more serious than poor oral hygiene. It could be linked to dry mouth caused by a sinus infection, postnasal drip or linked to a respiratory tract infection.

If you are suffering from chronic bad breath, a dental visit may be in order to determine the cause. The best defense being a good offense, a regimen of oral hygiene should be the first consideration.

Most dentists are trained in diagnosing bad breath, but if the origin is not dental-related you will most likely be referred to your family physician.
