Get Emmy Beauty Looks

Edie Falco, Kyra Sedgewick and Jane Lynch looked great. Here's how to try their winning make-up looks.

The buzz on the red carpet at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards may have been about the young newcomers to television, like Lea Michele from Glee and January Jones from Mad Men, but the seasoned ladies of the small screen were not to be overlooked.

Actresses like Edie Falco, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Susan Sarandon looked just as glam and gorgeous as their younger peers, and proved that older women can still look age-appropriate and have fun experimenting with makeup.

Here are the three most popular looks spotted on these lovely leading ladies, and how you can get them yourself.

Jane Lynch

Jane Lynch took home the Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series for her role in Glee. She wore a one-shoulder purple gown by Ali Rahami, and opted for a smoky eye to match a look also seen on Susan Sarandon, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Kris Jenner. To get Janes dramatic look, apply a purple eyeliner to your upper lash line like Almay Intense i-Color Eyeliner in purple ($5.04, target.com).

Then, using a duo eye shadow compact like Maybelline Expert Eye Shadow Lasting Lilac ($4.99, cvs.com), apply the lighter shade of lilac to your lids and along your lower lash line, then blend the darker shade from the outside corner of your lids, inward. Finish the eyes with brown volumizing mascara like Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara in brown ($19.50, esteelauder.com).

Since the focus of this look should be on the eyes, go light on the blush and lipstick with soft coral colors like Estee Lauder Signature Satin Crme Blush in coral light ($26, esteelauder.com), and LOreal Colour Riche Anti-Aging Serum Lipstick in compelling coral 402 ($9.99, drugstore.com). Kathy GriffinKathy Griffin, accompanied by her mother, wore a black and gray Oscar de la Renta gown with Neil Lane jewelry. Her makeup palette was a warm mix of browns and coppers to flatter her red locks. Mary Hart and Cheryl Hines also played with warm hues to evoke a healthy summer glow. To copy this look, use a black liquid eyeliner for your top lash line like Mac Liquid Eye Liner ($16.50, maccosmetics.com), a matte copper eye shadow for your lids like Nars Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Skorpios ($24, narscosmetics.com), and black volumizing mascara like Revlon Doubletwist Volumizing Mascara in blackest black ($7.48, walmart.com).A warm beige or nude color works well on Kathys lips, like CoverGirl Continuous Color lipstick in warm brick 025 ($3.91, drugstore.com) http://www.drugstore.com, paired with a pinkish brown blush on the cheeks like Neutrogena Healthy Skin Custom Glow Blush and Bronzer in rosy glow 40 ($10.77, walmart.com). Kyra Sedgwick and Edie Falco
Kyra Sedgwick and Edie Falco were both big winners of the night. Kyra, wearing a plum Monique Lhuillier gown, took home the Emmy for lead actress in a drama series for her work in The Closer, while Edie, dressed in a black one-shoulder Bottega Veneta gown, won for lead actress in a comedy series for Nurse Jackie. Both ladies looked stunning, opting for a more natural makeup look. To try this palette yourself, swipe an off-white eye shadow onto lids, paying close attention to the inner corners of your eyes to highlight and brighten the area. Lightly blend in a darker shadow to the crease of your lids an eye shadow duo works well for this, like Clinique Color Surge Eye Shadow Duo in blackberry frost ($17.50, sephora.com).Draw a thin line of eye liner to add volume to the upper lashes with a pencil like Avon Ultra luxury Eye Liner in charcoal ($4.99, avon.com) and finish with a layer of mascara like Lancme DEFINICILS High Definition Mascara ($24.50, macys.com).For natural, healthy looking cheeks, a pink crme blush like Laura Mercier crme cheek colour in canyon ($22, lauramercier.com) works well with an equally neutral yet pinkish lip gloss like Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss Pink Whisper ($6.99, walgreens.com) to add some shine. Kyras lipstick is a little brighter, so try Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor in Bit of Berry 175 ($5.77, discountbeautycenter.com) to achieve her look.
