Dr. Mitchell is the co-author of Fat Is Not Your Fate (Simon & Schuster, 2005), "I'd Kill for a Cookie," (Penguin, 1997) and Eat to Stay Young (Kensington, 2000), and is a contributing author to Macmillan Reference USA's Nutrition and Well-Being A to Z (Thomson Gale, 2004).
Dr. Mitchell earned her Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee and taught nutrition and health science at the University of Central Florida for over eight years. She has two four-legged kids named Gatlin and Pepper. She also loves to cook, and freely admits to being a chocoholic, saying that in realistic amounts most any food can be part of a healthy diet.
