My friend confided in me that she found a lump ...
My best friend told me awhile ago that she found a lump in her left breast.
I keep asking her if she's made an appointment yet to see her doctor, but she
hasn't. I'm worried that she's too scared to go. I've offered to go with her.
And I keep asking her if she's called her clinic yet. I don't want to be a nag,
but I love her and I'm worried (and I think she's in denial).
I asked her again today, and she got really angry and told me to back off.
I'm worried that she's not going to go. I know the longer she waits the worse
the repercussions will be.
What should I do?!
Cancer surviver
19 years ago, I found a lump in my breast and went to the doctor. He removed the lump-it was just a cyst. This last summer, my mammogram showed a lump. We did the same procedure but this time the lump was cancerous. The lump was removed leaving only a small scar. Because we caught it early, I just needed some radiation. Let your friend know that the main danger with cancer, and breast lumps, is doing nothing about them. Early treatment diagnosis and treatment yields much better results.
sounds like she is scared
sounds like she is scared of the result of knowing. that is a tuft one and sometimes the harder u push someone the harder they push back. i would just let her know you are their for her and that you are worried after that its up to her if she wants to face this or not sadly you can not make her go if she doesnt want to
As a suvivor of 6 years
I feel you need to give her info on what can happen by waiting. However, if it is something she will need your support. So don't alienate yourself from her.
