  • 7 Bad Boy Celebs Turned Good As we know, many celebrities manage to get themselves into trouble. From drug addictions, to alcoholism, to extensive womanizing (and sometimes all three,) this reckless behavior not only harms them, but jeopardizes their successful careers. Luckily, every once in a while, a few wild celebs come to their senses, seek out help and get back on the right track.

Here are 7 men in Hollywood who were bad boys for a while, but have since decided to turn things around…and keep it that way.
  • Robert Downey Jr. Robert Downey Jr. struggled with drug issues for years. Between 1996 and 2001, Downey, 46, was arrested on several drug-related charges, and even went through drug treatment programs. When he joined the cast of the sitcom 'Ally McBeal' in 2000, his performance was well received. Unfortunately, he had trouble staying clean and was fired after two more arrests. After being admitted to one more drug treatment program, Downey has been sober ever since. Since embracing sobriety, his career has skyrocketed—he even won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes.
  • Craig Ferguson He’s the host of 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson 'and one of the funniest guys on TV. But Ferguson, 48, is also a recovering alcoholic. Back in 1991, he even contemplated suicide. However, Ferguson is proud to say that he hasn’t had a drink in over 19 years. We’re proud of him too!
  • Colin Farrell In the past, the 'Miami Vice' actor has made headlines for his incessant partying, sex tapes, and even a sexual harassment accusation. Thankfully, the successful actor realized the road he was going down was not a good one. In 2005, Farrell, 34, checked himself into a rehab clinic for addiction to drugs and painkillers. After he checked out in 2006, he began attending meetings to get clean…and stay clean.
  • Dennis Quaid The 'Undercover Blues' actor spent much of the beginning of his career struggling with a cocaine addiction. Quaid, 57, has since cleaned up, telling Larry King back in 2002, “I saw myself being dead in about five years if I didn't stop.”

The actor, 57, still doesn’t enjoy discussing that part of his past and mostly blames Hollywood pressures for his addiction. While promoting his new film Soul Surfer, Quaid said, “Coming from where I came from—lower-middle-class life, from Houston into Hollywood—and all of a sudden this success starts happening to you, I just didn't know how to handle that.”
  • Matthew McConaughey Well known for his role in the movie 'Dazed and Confused', McConaughey, 41, was arrested back in 1999 for possession of marijuana…and for disturbing the peace when he was caught the same night playing the bongo drums naked in his Austin, Texas home. Since then, the actor has thankfully stayed out of the headlines for drugs (and nude percussion) and has instead received media attention for his successful films. Later this year, we can see McConaughey hit the big screen in two films—Bernie and The Lincoln Lawyer.
  • Steven Tyler As the front man of Aerosmith, the Demon of Screamin’ has been a rock icon and legend for decades. His road to fame wasn’t a clean one, however. Tyler was kicked out of high school for drug use. Then in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Tyler experienced heavy drug and alcohol addiction—and Aerosmith’s popularity suffered with him. In 1986, he completed rehab and remained sober for over 20 years.

After sustaining various injuries in recent years, including throat surgery and falling of a stage, Tyler, 63, fell into a painkiller addiction, which he’s since successfully kicked following a stint in rehab. Currently, the rock legend acts as a judge on the hit reality show American Idol. He also penned his first memoir, 'Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?' about his hardships, and also working on material for Aerosmith’s next studio album.
  • Warren Beatty The Golden Globe-winning actor spent decades doing what he did best—yes, starring in movies, but also having sexual encounters with seemingly three-quarters of the females in Hollywood. He’s been romantically tied to famous women such as Madonna, Cher, Carly Simon, Natalie and Lana Wood, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton…shall we continue? Beatty’s unofficial biographer, Peter Biskind, estimated that the actor has racked up around 12,755 sexual conquests!

In 1992, Beatty, 74, finally put his playboy ways to an end when he married Annette Bening and has stayed loyal to her ever since.
