  • June Boomer Movie Stars This month, a handful of exciting films are hitting the big screen. The star-studded casts have us all ready to trade a sunny day at the beach for one in the theater. So this June, grab the popcorn and get ready to see (or hear) six amazing boomer movie stars in action.
  • Jim Carrey Carrey, 49, is without a doubt one of the funniest men in cinema. Between the ‘Ace Ventura’ films, ‘The Mask’ (1994), ‘Dumb and Dumber’ (1994) and ‘Bruce Almighty’ (2003), Carrey has had us laughing and slapping our knees for over two decades.

His newest film, ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins’, is a comedy based on a children’s book by the same name. Carrey will be playing the lead role of Tom Popper. Catch the film in theaters starting June 17th
  • Angela Lansbury The British actress was nominated for her first Academy Award back in 1944 for her role the film ‘Gaslight’. Since then, Lansbury, 85, has also dabbled in Broadway and became well known for her twelve-year stint as the writer and sleuth Jessica Fletcher in the TV series ‘Murder, She Wrote’. She has five Tony Awards and six Golden Globes to her name.

Her eight-decade career isn’t finished, either. Lansbury will be playing Mrs. Van Gundy in ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins’.
  • Michael Caine ‘Hannah and Her Sisters’ (1986), ‘The Cider House Rules’ (1999), ‘Batman Begins’ (2005) and ‘Inception’ (2010) are just a few notable films that Caine, 78, has starred in. In fact, Caine is one of only two actors to have received an Oscar (for a lead or supporting role) in every decade from the 1960s to 2000s.

Head to the theater on June 24th for the opening of ‘Cars 2’—Caine will be voicing Finn McMissile. Not sure if you’re in to computer animated 3D movies? This may change your mind.
  • Christopher Plummer Plummer, aka Captain Georg von Trapp in ‘The Sound of Music’ (1965) has had a career that’s spanned over five decades. Since that big break, he’s also had main roles in notable movies like ‘The Insider’ (1999) and ‘A Beautiful Mind ‘ (2001). Plummer, 81, also has over 100 TV appearances under his belt, and even won an Emmy Award for an Outstanding Voice-Over Performance for narrating ‘Madeline,’ the TV show based on the children’s book.

What’s next for Plummer? He’ll be starring in the drama ‘Beginners’, a film about a young man dealing with two shocking revelations from his 75-year-old father, Hal (Plummer). The movie will debut on June 3rd.
  • Kevin Bacon Bacon, 52, has starred in a wide range of films. From comedies like ‘Animal House’ (1978), to musicals like ‘Footloose’ (1984), to dramas like A Few Good Men (1992) and Apollo 13 (1995) and even thrillers like Friday The 13th (1980), we’re convinced there’s nothing that Kevin Bacon can’t do.

Oh, we almost forgot—sci-fi action films. Bacon will be playing Sebastian Shaw in ‘X-Men: First Class,’ which premieres on June 3rd.
  • Tim Robbins Robbins, 52, received accolades for his lead roles in ‘Bull Durham’ (1988) and ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ (1994). His supporting role of Dave Boyle in the drama ‘Mystic River’ (2003) landed him an Oscar. Robbins has also written, directed and produced several movies, including ‘Dead Man Walking’ (1995), which won him an Oscar for Best Director.

Next, Robbins will play Senator Hammond in ‘Green Lantern’, a movie about a superhero comic book character with the same name. The film hits theaters on June 17th in 3D.
