Marie Osmond has suffered her share of heartbreak. Sure, she's a wealthy celebrity, but she's also been divorced twice, survived a childhood eating disorder, and in February 2010 her 18 year-old son Michael committed suicide.
But, even before her son's tragedy, some of Osmond's popularity stemmed from her status as a survivor. Someone who always came out on top of tough situations.
Check out some of the musical triumphs that made her a star in the first place.
Paper Roses (1973)
While The Osmonds (Marie's brothers) were strictly a pop group, Marie's music had more of a country feel. Paper Roses was her first single. It was a top five hit on the Bilboard charts at the time.
I'm Leaving It All Up to You (1974)
This was Osmond's first recording with her brother, Donny. The song went to number four on the pop charts. The video features Donny and Marie performing the song after an introduction by Andy Williams, on whose show she debuted as a three-year-old.
Meet Me in Montana (1985)
This duet with Dan Seals was a number one country hit. The song won Seals and Osmond the Country Music Association's Vocal Duo of the Year award in 1986.
There's No Stopping Your Heart (1986)
This was Marie's last number one solo hit, which makes it an appropriate place for us to finish. The video features the glamorous 80's life of Marie as she leaves a concert in a limo, and takes a private plane to see her son in the country.
