In 1968, Goldie became known nationwide as the blonde in the bikini who danced between sketches on the classic TV series Laugh-In. Her Hawn Foundation helps teachers and children bring the Buddhist practice of mindfulness (peaceful attention to the present moment) to schools.

8. She used to worry that she was a lesbian.
Goldie told an interviewer that she had for a long time been concerned that she might be gay, because I used to look at a pretty girl and think she was so great. And if she was a lesbian, Hawn said, she would have to give up Kurt Russell. Eventually, she concluded that admiring another womans appearance did not mean she was gay, adding, I love men.

The biggest lesson you can learn in life, or teach your children, she once said, is that life is not castles in the skies, happily ever after. The biggest lesson we have to give our children is truth. We're all built with illusions. And they break.
