A lot of great-looking guys have come out of the entertainment industry, but there are a few (OK, more than a few) that stand out for their looks, charisma and sheer sex appeal. Here are ten that over the years, made our hearts beat a little faster:
Brad Pitt
In his first major appearance in Thelma and Louise, Brad Pitt, now 47, sizzled as a seductive cowboy who makes Geena Davis very, very happy for one night. Not only is he hunky in that blond All-American way, he seems like a nice guy (even if he did leave Jennifer Aniston for Angelina Jolie). -
Elvis Presley
The King, who died at 42, is often remember only for his latter-year performances in the style of a kitschy Las Vegas lounge act. But when he burst on the scene in the mid-1950s he had a sensual bad boy appeal that left teenage girls across the country, well, all shook up. -
James Dean
The male Marilyn Monroe. He was a sexy heartthrob, but also an intelligent one. And he died was too young at 24. He made just three mo vies – Giant, East of Eden and Rebel Without A Cause – but they’re all classics. -
The Beatles
Which one was your favorite – John, Paul, George or Ringo? What Elvis was to the 1950s, the Beatles were to the 1960s, a phenomenon that seemed to come out of nowhere. Baby-faced Paul was considered the cutest, and even today, at 69, he still looks pretty good. -
George Clooney
A dapper star in the tradition of Cary Grant, Clooney, 50, can make almost any outfit look like a bespoke tuxedo. In addition, he’s proof that the older you get, the better you can look. -
Denzel Washington
Not only is he super-cute, but you can rely on him. We just know it. Whether Washington, 56, is playing a good guy (The Taking Of Pelham 123) or a bad guy (American Gangster), he always takes care of business. And that’s very, very sexy. -
Tom Selleck
The sex symbol for the mid-1980s in his Magnum, P.I. role, Selleck was a physically perfect specimen. Those eyes! That mustache! That chest! That chest hair! Offscreen, Selleck, 66, who’s been married to model Jillie Mack since 1987, is also known for his pro-gun politics—not to mention an acerbic exchange with Rosie O’Donnell, a gun-control advocate. -
Pierce Brosnan
In the 1980s, Brosnan,58, was kind of the anti-Selleck: a cool, elegant private investigator in Remington Steele. And that was the perfect lead-in to his portrayal of James Bond in four movies between 1995 and 2004. -
Hugh Jackman
The amazing thing about Jackman, 42, is that he manages to play both suave ladies’ men (Kate and Leopold) and the mutant superhero Wolverine in the X-Men movies. Even more surprising for Hollywood, he’s been married to the same woman for 15 years and is devoted to their two children. -
Mick Jagger
Despite his widely noted resemblance to Don Knotts of The Andy Griffith Show, Jagger’s sensual mouth and legendary dance moves made him one of the biggest sex symbols of the 1960s. Incredibly, at 67, he still seems just as loose-limbed as ever. To top it off, he’s now Sir Mick.
