Q:

Online Universities: Will Employers Take your Degree Seriously?

Do corporations take the online university curriculums as seriously as they do the traditional college classes?

A:

I think the question is not so much about how seriously the online courses are taken as about the purpose of the coursework. Can you show that you are building your knowledge base and skills?

If you choose to go for your master's degree, know that one of the most valuable things about graduate school is the relationships that develop with other students and faculty. That is largely absent for the online mode of learning. The combination of relationships forged and real time together is likely to yield opportunities that are hard to replicate in the online environment.

I am not familiar with the university you are attending, but in general, I think the jury is still out on online course work. I think that graduates of various online programs will need to work to build the credibility. But don't let anyone take your hard work away from you!
