Are You Counting On an Inheritance?

How do I tell my wife that we're not going to have enough money to retire? Not now, not at 65, probably not even at 75. God forbid that something happens to me. I don't know where that would leave her.

How did my father do it? He worked for 35 years for the same company, received his pension and retired comfortably. They moved to Florida and everything's taken care of.

You know--it makes me sick to say this--about the only way I can imagine us retiring is if we inherit from my parents. You call that a financial plan?

Sure, some of us are expecting an inheritance. Are you? Will it really be large enough to pay for your retirement? Or, if you already received one, how did you use it?
