How Can I Meet Other Single-Agains?
Maybe it was a mistake, not having kids. Bernie was determined to make managing partner; I wanted to have my own store and sell the designer fashions I liked. We talked about having kids a couple of times, but neither of us felt like giving up even a little of what we wanted to do.
The trouble is, Bernie made managing partner and left me for a younger woman with two kids. I've got a great store, plenty of money from Bernie, and not a close friend in the world. Sure, I've gotten to know some of my customers over the years, but my customers aren't my contemporaries anymore.
My brother and sister-in-law are two states away. They're great people, but as different from me as night and day. Joking or not, I sometimes wonder if they have escort services for women like me.
Have you achieved everything you wanted (or come close), only to face the prospect of spending your latter years alone? How have you met new friends?
