Any men out there had lipo?

A friend of mind lost a lot of weight but wasn't able to completely get rid of his beer gut. So he had liposuction. It really did help, but his stomach looks a little weird now. The doctor said that would straighten out over time. Anyone know whether this is true? I'm thinking about doing the same thing. I'm almost 50 and in pretty good shape, but would like to get rid of some of the abdominal fat t hat's crept up on me the last few years.
