A maxim hanging in the dining area says it all, "Our residents do not live in our facility, we work in their home." Our dear 98 year old friend, "AH." couldn't have been better cared for in the 39 months she stayed at Hale Puuhonua. She was treated with love, respect and patience, with great attention to every detail. The facility was a home that was renovated to house five persons, each in an individual room, with bright, spacious common areas. The staff is very professional, warm, considerate and understanding. Never did I hear a discouraging word or demeaning expression. I was notified by email as soon as a lump was found in AH's breast by a staff during a bath. Surgery was performed in a few days, and post -op care at Hale Puuhonua was superb, even after AH pulled off her dressings! To sum it up, her care was the best.
