Reviews:

I have a relative who lives at Bellaire Place. Since she has not lived in any other assisted living home; I cannot rate it simply with stars. I have observed many things that are very nice about Bellaire; but, also many defiencies. The cost for the quality of the place is good. But, I have to say that the residents could have a much better quality of life if they were just given donations, or, if possible, funded more by the owners. Their staff overall has a friendly disposition and do care, for the most part, about the residents. It is in a very nice location of Greenville. The inside and outside kept clean, except for the furniture in the sitting rooms is run down. I hear they are going to replace it soon. They DO try to handle the individual problems of the residents, but cannot do adequately either because of disorganization or understaffing. Bellaire is very short staffed and unorganized at this time. When residents need them, by buzzer; they are left unanswered at least half of the time. It seems to me that the alert system is in need of an upgrade. This probably happens in MOST assisted living places; but, I think it could be greatly improved her with just a little more supervision and organization. The activities for the elderly are down to a bare minimum. They are in need of more activities; and, recently moved the activity room to an undesireable location (for the residents.) The physical therapy room has taken it's place. It is a much larger room located downstairs. In other words, they just switched the two. The food, for the most part, is of cheap quality and often left piled in the plates of the residents. It is cooked about as well as it can be for the quality of the food. Sometimes, it is good enough to eat and enjoy. The workers in the dinningroom try very hard; but, cannot handle the the residents sufficiently....Especially the very last tables in the back of the dinningroom. I have been there when three tables recieved their dinners while the rest were being given their desserts and had already finished eating. They are also totally overlooked for some parts of the serving time. If in need of anything, most of all; it would be more space for the medication and records room. The caregivers really do not have enough space to be well organized. Overall, I would say the caregivers really try hard to please the residents. Several are wonderful people and are friends who pick up the elderly's spirits. These are the ones that have been there for awhile now.
