DON'T DO IT!

I would rate this deplorable if I could. I've been to this "facility" one time. If you're reading this review and you're not sure where to place a loved one, please take my word on this and look for something better even if it's more expensive. This has to be the shoddiest assisted living home I have ever seen. First, all of the pictures shown are of the regular area for senior living. I cannot comment on how they are treated, but the Alzheimer's unit is completely horrendous. The patients in that unit have ONE common area to spend time in, which is where they spend ALL of their time unless they're wandering up and down the ONE hallway they have. If you take them outside, the mosquitos will eat you alive. The doorway leading outside has a gap between the doors wide enough so the mosquitos will also eat you alive INSIDE their only common area. The patients have bite marks all over their arms. There was blood on at least two chairs. Whoever the loud mouthed "head nurse" is, I don't know what she is, is probably the rudest person I have come across lately. As I said earlier, all of their Alzheimer's patients sit in one common area. There are FLAT SCREEN TVS in every other single part of their "facility" except the Alzheimer's ward. They have an old projection TV and VCR. There is NOTHING for them to do to stimulate their mind except listen to a man read them notable people who DIED and ask if any of them know who it is and what he was famous for. This depressed the hell out of me. After their lunch they're all herded back into their common area and sit around while that same man reads the paper to himself and just watches them. Most of the patients I met there were the sweetest people who probably have great stories to tell from what they remember, but no one talks to them. They all mingle around and confuse each other. The mean ones pinch the other patients or try to hit them with their walkers while they're walking by. The Alzheimer's ward is completely understaffed, this I blame on..... The director. I have never met a woman so condescending in my entire life. She is almost impossible to get a hold of, and when you do she has no answers for you at all. She is a meddling woman who sits in her two person office and acts higher than thou. You literally have to call multiple times to be able to get a hold of her. I understand that she probably has a demanding job, but her attitude is something (along with that nurse mentioned earlier) that needs to be SERIOUSLY worked on. If you've read this far, I implore you to not take your loved one here. I have no reason to lie about any of this. Please consider another place. I have two photos leading up to the Alzheimer's unit and how it looks walking towards it. If you saw these photos they would speak for themselves. Email me if you want to see them.

Our mother was there for a week. They did not bother to order her medications. She became confused and fell. Calling for help on phone for bathroom a joke. Place is dangerous and full of lazy incompetent employees. Could not get paper work done to help insurance.
Not what it seems.

Please i beg of you do not put anyone here you love. My parent was here and it was terrible, Food is gross , no help, she fell and no one came, she yelled and yelled and a man in the middle of the night wondering , came in he went to look for someone and couldn't find anyone, there phones are always not working and that is how you reach someone, not safe in my opinion . I took her out as soon as poss.... don't believe the administrator or the son its all lies. No back up which i was told they had.... place is always hot, not very clean. Talk to the residence that have there mind about them they will tell you. no one helps. no one cares!!!!
