“Doesn't have a state license..stay away...Bad, bad place for any elderly to live especially if they have some form of memory issue. The communication with staff is horrible. Staffing is too low to be able to get everything accomplished that is promised. Two people per 40+ workers just can't cut it. Activities are not so great and not many of them. Evenings you don't find any help in the place and after 6:00 you hardly see any residents out and about. People just sit around doing nothing most of the time. Morning meds don't arrive until lunch times some days. Sometimes mom would be taken down for meals, somtimes not. You might get your laundry back, you might not. Very high prices for the services received. Mom didn't see a dr. for 10 days after a fall and then didn't have x-rays for another 10 days after that. They keep taking more and more people with dementia there and they cannot provide the services someone with that disease needs. Plus, they are not licensed and they don't tell people that! SO STAY AWAY!! Oh, the sales director will make you feel at home and comfortable about things..but I am warning you..they have no license to operate!! They were licensed when mom moved in, but shortly before she moved out, we found out there hadn't been a license for 6 months...SHAME ON THEM for not telling my dad or his insurance company. But, it's legal in Michigan and good luck getting help if you do live there cause nobody can help you since they aren't licensed!!! My mom was allowed to eat 1/2 of a styrofoam banana, it was recorded in her service notes and then after that she was allowed to keep it. I guess they thought it was funny! Every time we would take mom out of the facility and take her back she would throw a fit that she hated that place...at her new home now she doesn't even flinch when we take her back and that's because she is treated with dignity at her new home.
