I was totaly against a retirment home. All I had experienced were depressing & not a place I wanted mom in. My family told me Arbor Terrace was different. Although I had 4 brothers in Atlanta I felt the best alternative was to bring her to live with me in Md. I knew relocating to Md. would be difficult for mom but she deserves the best. After seeing pictures I went to see Arbor Terrace in person & felt it was more like a small suite in a nice hotel. When we moved mom in I was very impressed with the staff. Now when visiting her I feel the staff is like an extended family. Everywhere we go we were greeted by smiles. My mother is shown courtesy ,caring & friendship. When we were all out of town recently & mom did not feel well my brother made a call to the nurse . They went in to check her vital signs & temperature & assured us it was nothing serious. The next day they checked again to make sure she was comfortable & well. Mom is extreamly happy & feels like she has regained some independence.She can have her hair done, play bingo,see movies & participate in the activities she chooses .Her only complaint has been the food.I would not hesitate to recommend Arbor Terrace Crabtree to anyone who feels their parent deserves the best.

We brought my mother down here from Chicago after looking at several assisted living buildings in both towns and they all had an institutional or oldfashioned look and feel to them. I then watched as Arbor Terrace was being built, never imagining that it would end up being the Taj Mahal of Assisted Living in terms of the look, feel, decor and amenities. My husband and I even joked about having a suite as a weekend place! All that aside, what matters most is how the management and staff treat the residents and their families. You would never know that it was a job. They are more like extended family and genuinely care about the residents as if they were their own relatives. My mother loves to be there and participates in most of the activities, events and outings. When I visit her I feel like I am also visiting friends the staff is so welcoming. I have gotten to know the other residents and their families as well. The management and staff work hard to make Arbor Terrace at Crabapple a true community. My hat is off to them!
