In the above review I did not put in the star evaluation. I will do that now.

Fullcare at Sheyenne Crossings

My sister visited my father within a day or two of his admittance to fullcare and was horrified at the conditions in his bathroom: the toilet, floor, Dad's walker and the counter were covered with feces that had been there for so long they were dried and flaking. Luckily, he was in his room and clean. Obviously someone had been in the bathroom with him, knew the mess that was there and didn't clean it or get someone else to clean it. My sister found a young girl who worked there and the 2 of them cleaned it up. (that girl was very nice and helpful) We wonder if this meant my father was taken into that filthy bathroom during the day, or was taken to another bathroom or just left without being taken to the bathroom that day. No one has answered that question. We also wonder how long that filthy bathroom would have remained in that state if my sister hadn't visited that night at 8:30 p.m. My father's bill for the month is $8,000 and we felt at that price we were buying a clean bathroom. It is one thing when there's an accident and someone can't be there for 30 minutes or so to clean it up, but quite another when it was left so long it was flaking. I brought this up at my father's staffing and my sister provided the details. I identified it as a major health hazard to all patients and staff, not just my father. People responded that it was unfortunate. It was only when we refused to pay the monthly bill that we were even told that they had "educated staff about the situation" to prevent it from happening again. We feel we should have a discount for that month since we did not get what we were being paid for. We were told no discount for the lapse in their basic service. I called several people trying to work this out, and found that people knew of the situation, so at least they knew I wasn't making it up. The last person I called didn't return my call until a week later when my sister refused to pay the bill stating the filthy bathroom conditions and their lack of calling me back. My father has moved to a different facility. I recommend if you have someone there, to visit often, check on everything, be an advocate for your loved one-and visit at unexpected times. Don't assume your money buys even the most basic of sanitary conditions.
