Paul Harvey's REST of the story

In response to the above review, I simply would like the opportunity to explain the issues above. Staff in LTC is a very fluid reality, regardless of the building. That being said, we have staff that has been here TEN YEARS, several others have been her 5-7 years. There are quite a few that have been here 1-4 years as well. I feel that we have a stable staff, but again, in the industry, it is very fluid. ALL the staff knows each of our residents by name, but for privacy reasons, HIPPA, we are prohibited from calling a resident by name when on the walkies or in company with other residents that may hear our conversations. However when we are talking directly to a resident, we NEVER refer to them by their room number. If the facility, any facility, is in "lock down" due to a communicable disease, we are MANDATED by the Dept of Health, for the safety of the resident, including the resident above, to keep everyone in their room to minimize the spread of the disease so we can get thru the illness quicker. So we are looking out after our residents needs by being proactive & restricting their movememt is times of illness. . As for residents needs, we have service plans that we are required to create & follow according to resident rights, needs, desires, preferences etc. However, if the resident REFUSES to follow the agreed upon service agreement, we can encourage them to follow the plan, but they always have the right to refuse services, which I believe is the issue here. Emeritus is an amazing company that I am extremely proud to work with & for. They are extremely resident focused, as they should be. I'm very proud to say I work for THE BEST senior living company in America! I would encourage you, if you are reading the above post, to come in, see for yourself, FIRST HAND, what makes Fisher's Landing stand out, above the crowd. Our staff is second to NONE. They are great & I am very proud of them & the manner in which they meet my residents needs every day of the week. So, please feel free to come in & say HI to us. We love visitors, you will love us as well. See ya soon. Have a great day.

There are definitely good things about this facility but in my opinion they to not out weigh the bad. The staff is consistently changing, so there is no chance for consistent care for specific needs. The staff don't know residents by name, they refer to them by room number. Every time someone in the facility becomes ill the whole facility goes into lock down and residents can't leave their rooms, sometimes for up to two weeks. They do not care to keep up with residents needs. The gentlemen directing the facility has no idea what's going on there. He does not seem to understand how to run the facility. The previous owners were amazing here, but ever since Emeritus took over, everything has gone down hill.
