I spent $$$11,000 on a rhinoplasty/nose job by Dr Kivett. When I awoke from surgery, he had hit a nerve causing a stroke-like feeling and appearance of my jaw. It got better after a few weeks. But my nose was RUINED. It looked fine for a few weeks until the cartilage under the skin of my nose separated into two pieces, leaving an OBVIOUS-UNNATURAL gap beneathe my skin. He told me he'd fix it. He did some in-office surgery, probably illegal, and removed cartilage from behind my ear and placed in it the gap of my nose. It slightly fixed the gap, but actually added more gurth and thickness to my nose, more than the ORIGINAL nose had ever been. My 'real' nose had been very 'roman/masculine' and now I have a LUMPY-UNNATURAL-CROOKED-SHINY-SWOLLEN nose. Its still swollen after 8 YEARS!!!!!! It looks like a witch's nose-I make no exaggeration!! Then he promised me, and my husband, shook our hands, and PROMISED he'd get it fixed at his own expense. But the added little detail, was while all these procedures were going on, he told me not to expect my nose to be back to its NEW normal for 12-18 months, so wait it out. One day, I received a letter from his office saying that he woud no longer be able to see me. No reason-no explanation-and when i called-his staff would avoid me and was terribly rude. I was not rude or unreasonable in any way! AND-that whole, 'wait 12-18 months' thing, that is just his way of avoiding prosecution and beind sued. In California, you only have 12 months from date of injury to sue for MALPRACTICE!!!! He ruined me. He ruined my trust in doctors. He ruined my nose. He ruined my self esteem for a long while. He ruined me financially. HE IS A MONSTER. HE SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE. HE SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO WORK ON A CORPSE-HE REALLY IS THAT HORIBLE!!! STAY AWAY FROM HIM. I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE HE'D DONE THIS TO. AND THE SADEST PART-IS THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN TO HIS NEXT NEW PATIENT-I JUST HOPE THEY DON'T BELIEVE HIS LIES AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SUING HIM FOR ALL HE'S WORTH! WHAT'S THAT DOCTORS OATH??? OH YEH- +++HARM NO ONE+++ GUESS HE SKIPPED THAT OATH... RUN AWAY FROM HIM AS QUICK AS YOU CAN!!!
