Dr. Sledge performed a muscle flap and skin graft on my left lower arm in October of 2011. This was necessary due to a car accident. When the area was healing I noticed a triangular piece of material sticking out of an area that hadn't healed, and when I pulled on it I could feel the tug under my muscle flap. I informed Dr. Sledge of this and he told me it was internal stitching. I returned to him 10 months after the surgery with 3 areas still open and I was still pulling pieces of this material out of the open areas. Dr. Sledge stood 5 feet away from me, refused to examine it, said it was internal stitching and told me I did not need to come back. He left Mercy plastic surgery, so I scheduled an appt. with one of his colleagues. I went through another surgery January 2, 2013. The new surgeon redistributed the flap more evenly, removed fatty tissue, and removed material that was left from the first surgery . Sledge treated me less than human. He is a terrible doctor and person.
