Throat Cancer
Throat cancer is a disease in which cancer cells grow in an abnormal way in the throat. The throat is the hollow tube that runs from behind the nose and mouth, down the neck, to the opening of the esophagus and windpipe.
Ovarian Cancer
Ovarian Cancer is a disease in which cancer cells grow in the ovaries. The ovaries are a pair of organs in the female pelvis that produce eggs and female hormones.
Prostate Cancer
Prostate Cancer is a disease in which cancer cells grow in the prostate. The prostate is a gland that surrounds the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the end of the penis in men. Women do not have a prostate gland.
Testicular Cancer
Throat Cancer is a disease in which cancer cells grow in one or both testicles. The testicles (or testes) are a pair of male sex glands that produce sperm and male hormones. They are located under the penis in a sac-like pouch called the scrotum. At the top of each testis is a bunch of tiny tubules that collect and store sperm. This structure is called the epididymis. The sperm travel from the epididymis through the spermatic cord (or vas deferens) and out through the urethra during ejaculation.
Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is a form of cancer that begins in the skin. It occurs when skin cells start dividing at an uncontrolled, rapid pace. This forms a mass of tissue, called a growth. Growths can be benign (they won't spread to other parts of the body), or malignant (which means they can invade other tissues and bodily organs).
Wilson's Disease
Wilson's disease is a rare, inherited, genetic disorder of copper metabolism. It occurs in 1 out of every 30,000 people.
Copper is a trace mineral that our bodies need in small amounts. Most people get a lot more copper from food than they need. However, most people are also able to excrete the excess copper. People with Wilson's disease cannot excrete the copper they do not need.
Thyroid Cancer
Thyroid cancer is a malignant growth of the cells that make up the thyroid.
The thyroid is an endocrine gland located in the lower neck. It is shaped a bit like a butterfly, with a thin central body (or isthmus) and two “wings” or lobes. Like all endocrine glands, the thyroid produces hormones-chemicals that circulate through the blood to direct functioning in other organs of the body. The thyroid is made up of two types of cells, follicular cells and C cells. The follicular cells produce thyroid hormone, which is involved in regulating body temperature, heart rate, and the body's use of energy. The C cells produce calcitonin, which is involved in the processing and use of calcium throughout the body.
Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic Cancer occurs when cells within the pancreas begin to grow abnormally in an uncontrolled and invasive way.
The pancreas is an organ located behind and to the right of the stomach, near the liver, gall bladder, and intestine. The area of the pancreas on the right side of the body, closest to the first section of the small intestine, is called the “head” of the pancreas; the middle section, behind the stomach, is called the “body” of the pancreas; and the section on the left side of the body, closest to the spleen, is called the “tail” of the pancreas.
Stomach Cancer
Stomach cancer (also called gastric cancer) is an abnormal and unregulated growth of the cells that make up the stomach. The stomach is a pouch that holds and stores food after eating, and helps in the process of digestion.
Rectal Cancer
Rectal cancer is the growth of cancer in the rectum. The rectum is the last part of the large intestine. It allows waste to pass to the anus and then out of the body.
