Read user reviews and compare ratings from previous customers of the spa to get a sense of customer satisfaction. Once you have a list of candidates, call each spa and ask questions regarding their services, pricing, and any other questions you have.

Do I need to be naked during my massage?
One of the main concerns spa customers have is whether or not take off clothes for a massage. The best bet is to do whatever makes you feel comfortable. A massage is typically given while nude, but you will be covered with a sheet at all times. Only the part of your body being massaged will be exposed. If you are not comfortable being completely naked you are welcome to keep your underwear on.

Should I leave a tip? How much?

Your spa treatment is a personal service and as with most service businesses, a tip is part of the therapists' compensation. You can leave whatever tip you're comfortable with based on the quality of the service, but 15% to 20% is typically recommended. Gratuity is normally not included in a gift certificate if you are using one for your spa visit.

Do I have to talk during my spa treatment?
The therapist will follow your lead. You can chat the entire time or relax in silence. It is completely up to you. If you are uncomfortable at any point you should speak up immediately and feel 100% comfortable doing so. It is the therapist's job to ensure you have a perfect spa experience and will cater the touch and other elements to your desires.

Pre Spa Treatment Tips
The day spa you visit may have a sauna or pool for you to use before or after your treatment. Ask the staff what facilities are available. Turn off your cell phone or other digital devices before entering the spa. It is meant to be a quiet, tranquil, and relaxing environment so it is recommended that you turn off all distracting devices. Many spas will recommend that you take a brief shower before your treatment in order to allow any products used to absorb well.
