Senior Singles: the 10 Best Cities

The 10 Best Cities for Senior Singles

Interested in going beyond online dating? Research shows that there are ten big cities that are great for older singles.

The list, from AARP, was based on a city’s friendliness, a good percentage of Boomer residents, and lots of things to do. Also factored in: health-care resources and costs.

Here, the number one and number two cities:

*San Francisco - Not only does the number-one city  have great natural resources, like the leafy Presidio park, but the job market is good and seniors’ health is among the best in the United States.  Caveat: The cost of living is high.

*Boston – One of the nation’s most literate cities (due to the large number of colleges and grad schools), Boston also placed second on the list because of its excellent hospitals. Big bonus: if you worked for a public institution like the military or government, you don’t have to pay income taxes on your pension.
