Question

I'm Depressed , do you think It's taking a toll on my cat?
Firstly, i just want to point out , I've found recently, in the past two days or so, tht my kitten , Roiya has been going outside and and bringing roaches inside, and well, playing with them until they're dead, I didn't really notice until she bounds and brings them at my feet, and that point in time, i sweep it up and put it in the trash, I' bathed her yesterday, because she smelt so strongly of them. They have only been two. but that's not the reason i'm here , i found tht after the first night, she started acting... well sort of depressed. :|All she was doing was laying down, like if she had no energy, Which was what I had been doing for many weeks, she wouldn't come when you called her, come bounding if you rattled one of her toys, andshe's a very energetic kitten one of the most energetic i've had, She seems to have lost disinterest in things she once fancied. :/well i thought at first she was just tired you know?We all have our down days i suppose, so i put her in my bed yesterday afternoon and i pulled in the door and left the cat flap open so it wouldn't be tht much of an effort for her.Around 4 pm ... I went into my room around 3 am Roiya was still there, she hadn't left- she was just sleeping, so I petted her, and I said"Alright my Lover?" and she looked up at me and purred, and then went back to sleep . :/We both went to sleep and I just woke up . & She was in the same position and she hadn't left all night. I had to literally carry her to her food bowl. & she started eating a bit, then she stopped and looked up and me, and pushed her self against my hand... It made me cry. & Then she hopped down from her feeding area and she went back into my room and back onto my bed, into the same spot...Do you think it has anything to do with the roaches or do you think tht my cat is just depressed?Or do you think that maybe she's doing it to try to cheer me up or something?I'm 17 , and well recently I've been put on a shit load of antidepressants and psych medicationsand at night, I'd usually cry to her. Can someone just tell me if this is .. normal, if my cat's just going through a stage or , if she's having an off day or if i'm over reacting cos really i'm freaking out.. because she really does mean so much to me.

Read somewhere once (and trully believe this) that animals, especially cats, furr absorves peoples energy bad or good when they stroke them. When Im depressed and stroke one of my cats it always makes me feel better after a while. Based on this, your kitty may need some attention (stroking) from a "positive" person to balance your "negative".Hope this helps. If you have any more questions feel free to email me on georgetheodotou@gmail.com.p.s. my family own 11 cats ;)

I think the your cat is sick, may have roach poison in her,or other toxicity. Keep her indoor on IAM's diet, or see vet.

This made me want to cry. Made me think of when...well, I'm not gonna tell you that story, but it's no good. Take her to the vet...ASAP! The roaches could've picked up some poison and it's making her sick, or it could be something else.It CAN be from your mood, as well, but please don't assume this to be truth!

What is Depression

Depression is a mental illness marked by feelings of profound sadness and lack of interest in activities. Depression is not the same as a blue mood. It is a persistent low mood that interferes with the ability to function and appreciate things in life. It may cause a wide range of symptoms, both physical and emotional. It can last for weeks, months, or years. People with depression rarely recover without treatment.
