It may have been that the choc was past its sell by date and is bad.
Dark chocolate contains very little lactose. It does contain a lot of fat and theobromine, which is a stimulant similar to caffeine.Theobromine are both gastric irritants. They make your stomach hurt. They also increase your intestinal motility, which is a fancy way of saying that they make your intestines contract more, which can cause discomfort and the urge to have a bowel movement. This is not a sign of any disease. The only way to control it is to eat less chocolate.Edit: Please ignore the other answer. If the choclate was bad, you would have known, and you would be very, very sick. Chocolate blooms, which is the term for when the chocolate separates, leaving it still safe to eat but looking chalky and powdery so that you might not enjoy eating it. Any rancidity that would set in would happen way after the chocolate blooms, so if the chocolate hasn't bloomed, it can't be rancid.

What is Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is when the body does not make enough insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps your body convert food into energy. Without insulin, glucose (sugar) from the food you eat cannot enter cells. So glucose builds up in the blood. Your body tissue becomes starved for energy.

Type 1 diabetes usually begins in children and young adults. Over the long-term, if type 1 diabetes is not adequately treated, high blood sugar levels can damage the blood vessels, heart, kidneys, eyes, nerves, and other tissues or organs.
