It is important to limit your fat intake to 25 percent of your daily calories. It is equally important to limit your sodium to about 2,300 mg and your calories to 2,000 per day. When these limits in fat, calories and sodium are exceeded, it becomes more difficult for your body to produce the insulin that it needs to remain stable.
If you are overweight, you are especially at risk for Type 2 Diabetes. In many cases, Type 2 Diabetes prevention is simply a matter of losing those excess pounds, as being overweight also makes insulin production difficult. As we know, however, losing weight as we grow older can be more than a notion. Thats why you shouldnt do it on your own. Develop a support system of family and friends that care deeply about you and your health. If possible, find a weight loss buddy in order to share the journey and the responsibility.
