DWTS: Melissa Still Safe!

We ended our DWTS post yesterday by saying: " We're betting it will be good-bye to Melissa . . . But you never know!"    Well, you definitely never know! To just about everyone's surprise and to her fans obvious delight, the former "Little House on the Prairie" child star – and the only remaining Boomer at age 48 -- managed to stay on the safe list this week after all. The stunning turnaround came on the heels of Carrie Ann's scathing Monday night pronouncement that Melissa's Argentine tango with Maks Chmerkovskiy looked like "Cirque du Soleil gone wrong."

Melissa landed at the very bottom of the leader board with a scant 21 points out of 30 so her chances of surviving to dance another week looked pretty slim. In the end, though, her fans texted, called, and voted online in sufficient numbers to boost her final score above those of Jaleel White and Roshon Fegan.

Thus is was that Jaleel and Roshon danced a rumba duel that left judges so impressed with both of the guys that they hated to send either one home. Yet all three judges eventually gave the boot to Jaleel, who took his defeat like a man. According to EW.com, he told reporters after the show: “There are no tears here. I am proud of my last dance and I can’t wait to see it in the morning. The judges have to do what they have to do and there is going to be nothing but good dances going forward from here on out.”
