The best exercise program for a middle age man is one that combines weight training and cardiovascular exercises. You should start slow and include a stretching program. Always clear a program with your doctor and be sure to maintain proper posture during weight lifting.
Recommendations are as follows: Excerise 3-5 days each week, warm up for 5-10mins prior to excerise, maintain your excerise intensity for 30-45 mins and gradually decrease the intensity of your workout, then stretch to cool down during the last 5-10mins.
Depends on your overall health. If you are a normal and healthy 45 yr old guy, cardiovascular exercises such as walking, jogging, or cycling should work well. Always remember to warm up and not over exert yourself. If you have any serious medical conditions, you should probably check with a doctor first.
