Its been 15 years since she released a fitness video (Jane Fondas Personal Trainer Series: Abs, Buns & Thighs), but the queen of aerobics is back with two DVDs aimed at baby boomersand anyone whos never even exercised.
Im very excited to be back in the aerobics business, Fonda, 72, told People magazine. I know from my experience and from my research how critical it is for boomers and seniors to be physically active. Even if theyve never exercised in their lives, nows the time and my programs are a good, safe way to do it. One of the new DVDs, Jane Fonda: Prime Time Walkout, focuses on walking, while the other, Jane Fonda: Prime Time Fit & Strong, has two low-impact routines to build strength, burn calories and feel energized.
This is familiar ground for Fonda: In the 1980s, she introduced the concept of working out at home through her series of bestselling VHS tapes. The first one, Jane Fondas Workout, sold 17 million copies and she went on to make 22 more tapes not including the ones shes introducing now.
The DVDs go on sale Nov. 30, and judging from the covers, Fonda still looks great in workout gearalthough, thankfully, the spandex isnt nearly as shiny as it once was.?
