Heres the thing about black: its classic, its chic, but it can also be boring.

Not on Grace, though. Why? (You guessed it) Because of her wild tresses. (Note Anna Wintour next to her wearing almost the same thing kinda boring, no?)

Now were not saying for you to run out and dye your hair fire-engine red, but do one bold thing when youre wearing all black. Play up your eyes, wear a bright colored lipstick, wear your hair in a way you normally wouldnt.

When youre wearing a muted color, its the perfect time to try something new and fun elsewhere. Otherwise, it can get too loud.

Because, really, nothing is more classic.

Note the way Grace wears her button-down shirtstheres a laid back, totally un-stuffy air to it. She looks comfortable and relaxedat the front row of a fashion show!

Try pairing a crisp, white shirt with something a little dressier than plain old jeans. (Remember when Sharon Stone paired one with a Vera Wang skirt to the Oscars?!) Tuck it into a skirt, throw a blazer over it or wear it with high-waisted, wide-leg pants.

When you wear a classic white shirt one things always certainyou will never look back at a picture of yourself one and say, I cant believe I wore that!

Or perhaps we should say understated jewelry.

Grace doesnt do ultra-trendy or loud jewelry. She sticks with what works, and it looks anything but boring.

Treat yourself to a nice (real) pair of hoops that youll have for years to come, or a long, silver necklace that youll be able to wear with anything. Cheap jewelry is fun, but real jewelry is forever.

Graces clothing is rather simplistic, so bright, red nails always look perfect on her.

Yes, theyre hard to maintain (and when they chip, they look awful), but try a bright, red manicure every once in a while (not every week!).

For a color like Graces, try a red that has an orange undertone instead of a brown. Traditionally, more of a spring red than a winter red, we think its the perfect antidote to the cold winter months. And we guarantee it will lift your mood!

Yes, Grace was a model, and yes, she works for one of the biggest magazines in the world, but we feel that Grace is on to something else
