What Do I Want For Christmas?

I know the evolved woman's answer to this yearly question is world peace, a cure for cancer and the end of global poverty and hunger, so let's skip that. Like every other woman my age, I know only too well the stresses of finances, health, family obligations, career transitions and a looming sense that it's impossible for this country to solve all its issues quickly and efficiently. My list of Christmas would-love-to-gets is kind of superficial, and I'm not apologizing for it! I need a break and so do we all. Wishing all THIRD AGERS a happy and healthy holiday. Here's what I have my eye on:

A Ruffled Blouse From C.Wonder I want it in all three useful basic neutrals: ivory, navy and black. This is by C. Wonder - an amazing new store and site started by Tory Burch's very smart ex and is in soft modal/ cotton so it's comfy and tailored at the same time. It would be great with jeans or under a cardigan with a pencil skirt. I usually am not a shirt person, but this one has all the appeal of a tee. ($58, cwonder.com)

A Cashmere Hoodie From J. Crew The fiesta purple shade, please, even if I should buy the more practical heather gray ! I am addicted to hoodies for dog walking ( cozy ), airplane travel ( to shut out plane noise and screaming babies while I try to sleep ) and rainy days( as a last minute frizz preventative under a trench). A Skinny Belt This gives any dress, sweater or jacket a defined waist. Super-skinny belts like this one are amazing if you have a big chest, blurry middle and want to give your body a sharper line without accenting flab or a tummy. Promise! I do it all the time. ($42, madewell.com)

A Global-Inspired, Sparkle-Trimmed Dress Love the print and the any-season rayon fabric of this "Sumana" dress. Wear it now with tights and boots, all summer with sandals. ($198, anthropologie.com)

A Black Leather Knit-Collar Jacket I can't say no to a buttery, fitted leather jacket, and this one layers up like a dream over long tees and flat knit sweaters or sweater dresses like a dream. Love that the neck leaves plenty of room for scarves ( or a hoodie!) so I don't get that choked up feeling. ($348, gap.com)
