Saving allows you to keep a file on your computer's hard drive and return to it later.

Here are 3 situations when you may want to save something:

  • You have created something, such as a letter in Microsoft Word, and don't want to lose your work when you quit the program.

  • You have a floppy disk and want to back-up the files on your computer's hard drive. That way, if you lose the floppy disk, you still have the file.

  • You want to save something from a Web page: an image, say, or an HTML page.

This Booster will teach you the basics of saving. Although the process may vary slightly depending on the software you're using, the general procedure remains the same.
