7 Foot Surgeries Later and Now I gota walk very very carefully
In my prime, I danced as a ballerina never suspecting the damage I was doing to my feet. I've surgeries to correct hammertoes, callouses, ingrown toenails, tailor bunions, and numerous orthotics.
I worked a sit down job for a decade and recently made a transitional choice to sheetmetal apprentice.
Needless to say, all this standing and lugging around heavy weights, is killing my feet. I wear men's steel toe boots that are too big in the heels and I bandage up my shortened right toe, pad my toe, heels and soles with both gauze and wrap with an ace bandage.
By the end of my 10 hr workday, I have shooting pains in my soles and can barely stand. I go home in a wheelchair on the bus.
Short of changing my career, does anyone have suggestions to making my feet endure?
