Hair Raising Costs

It's our crowning glory and it's every woman's prerogative to be obsessed with our hair.

From coloring, cutting, dyeing, blow-drying and even extending, we girls spend a staggering pounds 9000 ($14,000) in our lifetime on our locks, according to a survey.

And we also spend an arm-aching 17 weeks of our lives blow-drying our manes. For men, it's unfathomable the lengths we go to getting ready for a night out.

But the survey, by hotel chain Travelodge, shows the price we put on our heads. Then there are all the products needed for the general upkeep of our hair.

The survey also found our favorite celebrity hairstyle is the "big hairdo" worn by Cheryl Cole followed closely by Jennifer Aniston's sleek locks.

Her style as Rachel in the Nineties in Friends was iconic of the decade and she hasn't lost her crown.
