Am I being paranoid or cautious about getting a terminal illness?
I am 29 years old, for the past 4 years I have been OBSESSED with the thought that I might have some terrible, terminal illness like cancer or something...I am paranoid and convinced that I have breast cancer b/c sometimes my boobs hurts, or bone cancer b/c sometimes my sholder will hurt, I go to the doctor about once or twice a month to check and see if I have cancer or breast cancer, within the last year I have gotten 5 mammograms, all of which came back negative my doctors try to convince me that I am fine but my gut tells me I am not, every scan and text always comes back fine but why do I feel like I have something qrong with me....I think it stems from my mother and nannie dying from cancer, I have even considered have my breasts removed so I lower my chances of getting cancer. Am I being paranoid, worried or JUST CAUTIOUS!? My gynocologist suggested I see a therapist!

look up hypochondria
You're obsessed with the idea that you have cancer, and that's probably caused from anxiety. You're making yourself sick by worrying constantly that you have a terrible disease. Your gynecologist is right. You need to find a therapist who can help you get to the bottom of your anxiety and help you understand it, and how to cope with it. There are medications that can help in the short term, and therapy will help long term.
Paranoid. How are you paying for all this? I agree with your doctor. Time to see a therapist. You could well be developing or have Munchausen syndrome or hypochondria.
