What are some books to help my father cope with child with cancer?
My brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It doesn't look good. My father is so very sad. His first wife died of breast cancer and now his only son has cancer. Do you know of any good books to help him cope with his adult son being diagnosed (and sadly likely dieing) of cancer?
Answers
I dont know how your fathers feels about religion, but everyone is raving about the book "Heaven Is For Real" it's a true story of a young boy who saw heaven during a medical emergency.
Try "I don't Know What to say" By Robert Buckman and there's a child's book I have been showing to adults "Someone I love has cancer" by Alaric Lewis. They are both great for sorting out feelings. I recommend you buy them through www.abebooks.com who always have new and used copies much cheaper than Amazon.
