does anyone know why you can't take hrebal sleeping pills with antidepressants?
I'm on antidepressants and have brought a pack of NYTOL HERBAL but the pack says that you can't take both. as there just herbal I dont understand why
Answers
If it has valerian in it, it can be bad because valerian is a depressant and it can have synergistic effect with other drugs. I wouldn't worry about mixing them though.... They're herbs... St johns wort I think is really bad though so if it has that don't take both!
Herbs are not regulated by the FDA like prescription drugs. So, just because it says your taking a certain pill/herb doesn't really mean you are it could be a placebo or even some other herb.
st johns wort is a problem with antidepressant as it works in a similar way on similar receptors. valerian works by decreasing anxiety and will help you sleep, but dont see a problem with it and antidepressents
