Zoloft stopped working?
It was working ok for a little while. I never really felt happy since I started taking it, but it has kept the suicidal urges and some of the self pity at bay for a while, but now it just doesn't work for me. Can anyone recommend another medication that might work better? Also I want to start seeing a psychologist to maybe see if I can work on some of the issues that have been killing me for so many years, so if you know a really good doctor in the Cleveland area let me know?

You must hate the Simpsons, that's your problem.
If you go see your doctor or whoever you got the medication off in the first place, and tell them it just isnt working now, they will prescribe something else for you, the have to its their job. If you feel suicidal though it may be best to go to the emergency room and tell someone or just call a friend or family member. I did and it basically saved my life. I know how you feel and seeing someone to talk about why you feel like you do is the BEST route you could take. I seriously hope with all my heart you get better, i truely do. x
Your dose of zoloft might simply need some tweaking, particularly if you live in a northern location with short periods of daylight in the winter. You might also have been experiencing some additional life stressors which could have thrown off your brain chemistry making your current dose inadequate (assuming you are taking the medications as prescribed). You could also have something recently in your diet that impacts your bodies ability to absorb the zoloft. A couple of other things could be weight changes, exercise level, and sleeping habits, all of which have an impact on mood. All these things should be discussed with your physician and/or a good pharmacist. You inquiry about a psychologist is good as it shows you already have some insight that your depression has some non-organic origins. I wish you luck in finding a good psychologist.
