Can social anxiety disorder be cured?
Im a 19 yr old guy. I have social anxiety, generalized anxiety, depression. I have no social life, im anxious all the time. I see a psychiatrist and theyve put me on paxil, zoloft, ativan, prozac, welbutrin, seroquel, prodtiq and buspar and none have helped me get over it. Am i screwed for life? I feel like my life is passing me by..

Yes it can be cured! You should defo not be on that amount of medication its bad for you and is probably not going to make a difference, your not screwed for life, some physciatrists do not have a clue what they are talking about and try and pam you off into taking different things! I also have anxiety problems and depression, I was on anti depresents for a few months and then came of them. I always had this thing with rubbing my hands and I've done it ever since I was younger, I got bullied at school for about 7 years and it lead to me being nearly suicidle! I started smoking aged 13 and it is a nightmare. You should go and see a counciller and talk to them about how you feel, it does get better honestly! But you need to do something about it, if you speak to a counciller and they might recommened an event where people just like you have a similar problem, it always helps to meet someone like that so you know your not alone and not the only one who is going through it!
