I think I might be bipolar?
I have taken some online quizzes. On them, I scored decisively (ie 47 when it was a 22 for sever symptoms). I have been reading about it, and it ALL sounds like me. I'm kinda freaking out because I never realized it! Anyway, I've never really talked to anyone about it, and I try to keep my emotions (depression at least) secet (manic isn't so secret, I've done stuff crazy stuff and I talk fast etc etc when manic). The depression for me gets pretty bad, to where I feel massive self hatred, suicidal, naushus (fail spelling, running a blank). Anyway, I think it's pretty bad. So, what should I do? I don't want to seek psychiatric help, because I don't want my family to know (I'm only 17). So, any advice?
Since you want help without acknowledging your parents, try talking to a school counselor. Remember all things are confidential when visiting with a counselor even at school, so your parents wouldn't know.
Don't rely on nonlinear tests to diagnose you. Sometimes they're right but most of the time they make a person believe they have a mental illness that they may not. Then the person starts attributing those characteristics of that mental illness. If you're feeling suicidal and have major self hate then I'm going to ask you to please see a doctor. A school guidance councelor...anyone. I was in the same position as you except I was cutting myself pretty bad. One night when I was Manic i thiught it be a great.idea to slice my legs open. Long story short, my parents find out and took me to doctors where.I was diagnosed with bipolar (in the.spectrum) I reccomend seeking medical attention before it gets to the point I was at.
