how to control anxity?
I have been suffering anxiety disorder and chemical imbalance depression disorder for apx. 7years. i am 21. I have been getting treatment and currently taking 100mg of zoloft. I still become depressed. i get upset and feel worthless and am afraid to go to work and do everyday things. Im afraid of everything. I feel like im not worth living. It is sooooo hard for me to get up every morning, i sleep about 12 hours a day and im still extreamly drained. i just dont know how to get out of this. i feel like im not getting any better, so i guess my question is how can i help myself feel better while im on meds and seeing a psychiatric help
Try something you absoloutly love
Eg horse riding or dance my friend did this and it got rid of it. It's a natural treatment
I think I have the same problem... I get so nervous like i'm starting college in about 7 months and the thought of me not knowing anyone is like eating me. (well, my best friend is going with me but still). I have the same problems with going to work and such too. I try talking to people about how I feel and they don't understand... I'm going to try to get on anxiety pills (if thats the problem) I seriously hope it helps! Sorry that I don't know how to answer your question - I hope the best to you and me both :)

The herbal remedies and supplements have anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects as well as antidepressant ones, and anxiety is addressed on pages 1, & i at 8m.com. Passionflower (as directed, or 1 drop in a cup of warm water, 4 times daily; view http://altmedicine.about.com/od/anxiety/a/passionflower_benefits.htm?nl=1 ) may be helpful, short term, or L-theanine http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&biw=&bih=&q=l-theanine%3B+anxiety&btnG=Google+Search I'd avoid medications, except as a last resort, and even then, only use temporarily, as they don't address the causes, merely (imperfectly) treat the symptoms. Learn and employ the relaxation techniques (begin with Progressive Muscle Relaxation) and the EFT variant for use in public places, in case it is needed there.
Wean off antidepressants/anxiolytics as per page 3 at 8m.com; begin the core treatments now, and begin the herbal remedies, and/or OTHER supplements when below 50% weaning dosage, although I am informed that low doses of 5-htp used with antidepressants are not associated with serotonin syndrome, so you could begin immediately with 50 mg daily, as you are weaning off, but first Google: "low dose 5-htp; (your antidepressant); effects" and try www.drugs.com & http://mediguard.org INTERACTIONS FUNCTION.
To be quite frank you need to change your thought process, you are certainly not worthless. If you have a job then someone obviously values you. This alone should bring you joy. Ten percent of America is unemployed and the majority of the world lives on less than a dollar a day so you are one of the lucky ones. Do you have a hobby? If not then get one, volunteering might be something you would enjoy. And if you volunteer somewhere like a homeless shelter, a hospital, children’s or nursing home it will help you forget about some of your problems and help you realize that life is not that bad.
Also your probably sleeping too much, all you need is 8 hours, maybe a little more on the weekends. I would hope your doctor is providing you with some cognitive therapy to help you learn to cope and change your thought process. If h/she is not then seek one who will.
Also you need to find a good church and get saved. Once you do this you will realize that Jesus is in control of everything and that you can only do so much. Sometimes the only thing you can do is give it to God. Once you grasp this then you will realize that worrying brings you nothing but misery. Life is too short to be upset all of the time, I promise God has a great plan for you, all you have to do is ask and place your trust into him and you will realize the glory that GOD has in store for you.
Its all in the way u think if u think negative u will feel negative try some meditation and doing things that take ur mind off it the more it makes u fink the better ur brain can only process 1 thought at a time so if ur concentrating on something else ur anxiety wont realy have a chance. also dont fink that u havent made progress in your recovery cos im sure u hav and looking back on that progress and recognising how far u have come will give u the strengh to recover further. Chin up u will get better it just takes hard work and effort
