Does fibromyalgia cause people to become disabled and unable to work?
Answers
in some cases, yes it can. It can just be for a short period of time and not permanently.
depends on the severity there needs to be detailed documentation done by their MD for at least 1 yr
sometimes, i had it 30 years before i had to stop working
If the person suffering from the condition does not keep active and maintain a healthy diet, their condition could worsen causing a disability. It is very hard to receive disability for this condition due to research which is still being conducted. Many questions are still unanswered concerning the cause behind the condition. Doctors develop a prognosis by symptoms experienced, and not medical evidence. The proper long term maintenance of fibromyalgia is unclear. There are also no medicine therapies approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
