What causes hoarseness in voice without sore throat?
Answers
It could be from allergies or inhaling something harmful. Smoking can cause this. If you do a lot of singing or talking, hoarseness can result. Serious causes are cancer and mononucleosis.
The cause for hoarseness is smoking, thyroid problems, trauma to the voice box, and, occasionally, menstruation. Very serious conditions such as laryngeal cancer can also cause hoarseness, which is why it is important to get evaluated promptly by an otolaryngologist.
Hoarseness is caused by the irritation of the vocal cords. It's certainly possible for the vocal cords to be irritated without any pain or soreness present.
