How long does a person live after a stroke?
Answers
A person can live for many years after having a stroke. If caught early enough a person having a stoke can be medicated and then the severity can be minimized. Some stroke patients lose movement in parts of their body and have to be sent to rehabilitation to relearn how do do some things left damaged by the stroke. If the stroke is major it can cause a huge amount of brain damage and can be fatal. In May my father in law had 2 strokes. The first one was minor and he went to the hospital. He was lucid but could not move one half of his body or speak, but he could write, eat, and understand what was going on. Two days later he suffered a major stroke and after was in a non responsive state and then passed away 2 days later.
