How to Prevent Schizophrenia
There are no guidelines for preventing schizophrenia as the cause is unknown. However, studies show that early, aggressive treatment leads to better outcomes.
One area that researchers are investigating is the use of omega-3 fatty acids. While the evidence is mixed, one study found that omega-3 may help to delay the progression to schizophrenia in people who are at a very high risk for the condition. Talk to your doctor before taking any herbs or supplements. They can interact with other medicines that you are taking or affect other conditions that you have.
