Causes of Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Subarachnoid hemorrhage occurs in about 30,000 Americans each year. It is most common in people between aged 35-65 years. This type of hemorrhage is usually caused by:
- Serious head injury (Concussion)
- Rupture of cerebral aneurysms and other blood vessel deformities (spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage)-These are usually present since birth.
- Bleeding disorders
- Drug Abuse and Drug Addiction (especially Cocaine Use Disorder and amphetamines)
