Does Cherry Extract Relieve Arthritis Pain?
Question: I heard something on the TV recently about concentrated cherry extract/juice relieving osteoarthritis pain and swelling. What do you know of this study?
Answer: Cherry extract is among the new wave of all-fruit antioxidant products. Like the others, cherry extract is a mild anti-inflammatory agent. When combined with other natural ingredients, the effects can be synergistic. My suggestion, however, is to start with more potent natural anti-inflammatory compounds such as turmeric (either in capsules or cooked with food), ginger, boswellia, omega-3 fatty acids, and digestive enzymes.
